Hailing from a Cuban American background, Ms. Soret's roots trace back to Miami, Florida, where she grew up. She pursued higher education at the University of Florida in Gainesville, completing her Bachelor's of Science in Journalism and Communications in 1996. Subsequently, she attended the University of Miami School of Law, earning her Juris Doctorate cum laude in 1999 and gaining admission to the Florida Bar the same year.
Commencing her legal career, Ms. Soret commenced her legal career at a prominent Miami telecommunications law firm, actively contributing to the purchase and sale of radio stations and other media entities. Alongside her professional endeavors, she took up the role of Editor for Broadcasting and the Law, a well-regarded monthly telecommunications trade paper.
In pursuit of new challenges, she transitioned to a downtown Miami law firm in 2002, embracing the role of a litigation attorney specializing in automobile accident cases. A year later, she embraced a fresh opportunity, joining the largest minority-owned law firm in the country. At this firm, her practice areas expanded to encompass premises liability, products liability, high-value automobile accidents, wrongful death, negligent security, and property damage (residential/commercial) cases.
In 2011, Ms. Soret co-founded Barton King Soret, P.A. in Coral Gables, Florida, demonstrating her leadership as the Managing Partner. In this capacity, she skillfully represented both Plaintiffs and Defendants in personal injury lawsuits. Simultaneously, she took an active role in the Miami Beach Bar Association, serving as its Historian and Vice President. Subsequently, in 2014, she embarked on a new chapter by joining GEICO Staff Counsel as an in-house litigation attorney. There, she excelled in representing GEICO and individual clients in a myriad of jury trials.
